Ummmm...

WTF?

We went through *counts* 10 chapters of posturing, tears of blood, girly hissy fits, and pointless genjutsu fighting... for this

Oh, Kishimoto, please don't go down the road One Piece paved... not only has your art took a hit... but your story telling abilities? WHY make us go through all that only to have a really annoying (and, admittedly, confusing) black flame continuation, Zetsu still doing NOTHING, Sasuke using the COMPLETELY overused crying blood thing, and then to have a really choppy transition back to Tobi v Konoha! Sure, the whole suddenly seeing things through Tobi's eye was... awesome... but the overall dialogue of the Konoha team? Um... >-<

There were two things I liked about this chapter. One was suddenly switching to Tobi's eye and the other was Shino's amazingly cool pose. The rest of the chapter? POINTLESS! After making us focus solely on the Itachi/Sasuke fight so much that we're going "Naruto who?" and he gives us THAT?

>-<;;

Unlike what happened with Eiirchiro Oda and One Piece, I shall remain faithful! Sasuke's too pretty to give up on... >->

In other news, I was suddenly hit by a story idea about an AU Naruto about wartime. I've just finished reading "The Things They Carried" (which is awesome by the way, completely amazing read). Its gonna have all the angst, terror, bonding, and character deaths that real wars have... and who know, maybe it'll actually inspire me to get off my lazy butt and actually write an original story... god knows I have enough ideas to >-< Naruto has just claimed my brain.

But I'm hoping this story may bring some people to this journal xD so then I won't feel like I'm talking to myself all the time >->;;

I left an RPG today...

I've known these people and have been writing with them for over a year, and to say its sad is an understatement. In a way, they've become more of a family than my own has been lately. I've fallen in love (or the closest to true, fantasyish love I'll ever get) and have created a whole slew of really good, supportive friends.

I helped kick the site off, I've jump started it after various summers of relapse, I've helped bring it out of depressions... its like my baby in so many ways, and to abandon it just makes me want to cry.

Correction, it does make me cry.

Pieces has been my life for the last year, as stupid as that sounds, but my life is utter crap right now.

At any and all given times I want to just break down crying, to yell at my friends to stop flooding my own emotional boat with their own problems, to try and take back control of my life. I'm on the edge and I can't get off...

I need to get off...

Hopefully, my writing muse will return, and hopefully... I'll be able to go back to Pieces with guns blazing and slide right back into the community we've created.

Whoo... continuation of the fic from two posts previous! 12 pages in word *parties*

Eh, unbeta'd... and not that interesting... but... it needed to start somewhere >.< and I decided that this was as good a place as any to start it from. More angst, romance, and other such things in later chapters!

Fandom: Naruto
Title: Long Time Coming
Summary: No one knew the reason behind why Sasuke left... well, no one except for Koharu, Homaru, Tsunade, and Kakashi that is. Now that Sasuke's mission's over, will he be able to put the horrors of his past at Otogakure behind him? Will Naruto accept that he's back without being informed about the mission? These are questions Sasuke faces as he debates returning to Konoha. However, his decision's made for him after word reaches both him and Sakura about the threat of Itachi awaiting Naruto's unsuspecting team. Can they manage to put their past behind them and move on? Or will the bonds Sasuke broke and trod upon bring them all to ruin?
Pairing: Naru/Sasu, Sasu/Naru, eventually Naru/Sasu/Saku
Warning: Yaoi, Het, threesome, bisexual relationships, angst, death, and Orochimaru. <s>What? He's creepy enough to deserve his own warning...</s>

It was raining.

It wasn’t that kind of rain that felt like it was washing everything clean, clearing away the proverbial mud obscuring one’s vision, or wiping away the painful memories of the past. No, it was the kind that stung every time it hit the skin, mocking, blinding, and making things so clear they were painful, even if one knew the truth behind them.

In a matter of moments the clear water of the river was clouded with the bombardment of a million little drops of water reuniting with it. The gray of the rocks was died a deep black, and it seemed that the statues of the two warriors watching over the waterfall were crying, water running down their cracked cheeks and pooling in the various dips, ledges, and body-shaped imprints recently shaped out of the rocky landscape. Dirt was turned to mud in a matter of seconds, misplacing footing and causing a few small landslides to already take place.

Dark hair was plastered to a pale forehead, the normally blue-black strands as dark as night under the onslaught, the strands obeying gravity for a few grave seconds, as if just a small part of his body was clinging to any semblance of reality as his mind floated off into space. Charcoal-black eyes that had previously been a varying shade of gray, dancing with the hints of far off emotions, stared unseeing down at the blond, tanned body lying deathly still in front of him. There was no breath lifting the ribcage in normal, healthy intervals, and only the small twitch of a vein in the side of a well-muscled neck betrayed the fact that the boy in front of Sasuke was still alive.

It shouldn’t have turned out like this, with Sasuke standing exhausted over the body of his best friend, his shoulder aching and burning from the cursed seal. He was supposed to make it over the border, he was supposed to just slip into Orochimaru’s arms and leave Naruto behind, he hadn’t planned for Naruto catching up, and for him to slow down, waiting for him, wanting to fight… needing to see once and for all who was the stronger one. And now… now he had to stop, he had to leave behind his last tie to Konoha and wait for that slowly approaching chakra energy to finally happen across his location. He had to make sure that Naruto was alive, and he had to say his goodbyes to the village that had raised him.

The crackle of sandals against gravel assaulted Sasuke’s finally tuned ears, and he turned slowly, the blankness in his eyes betraying the utter physical and mental drain he was suffering from. Kakashi could have just snuck up behind him, soundlessly and wordlessly, and slit his throat, but by betraying his location, he was gently persuading the youth towards speaking to him, telling him of the situation. Sasuke watched as Kakashi’s visible eye trailed from his own form towards Naruto’s, lingering on the rip in his shirt as he seemed to check the boy’s vitals just by glancing at him.

“He’s alive,” Sasuke finally said, his voice a hoarse whisper. He wasn’t sure when he’d lost it, but there, facing his sensei’s evaluating gaze, it was gone, and as soon as he spoke, as soon as he destroyed the silence that had come crashing around him, he felt the exhaustion flood in even more.

“And your mission?” Kakashi asked, holding Sasuke’s dead gaze with a serious, calculating gaze of his own.

The Uchiha paused before reaching up towards his forehead, slipping his fingers underneath the forehead protector and pulling it forward, the loosened knot slipping easily off. He held it for a minute, staring into the reflection of someone he didn’t know, didn’t recognize. Handing over that last tie to the village was hard, and Sasuke honestly didn’t want to part from it… but keeping such a memento, branding himself with the full status of missing nin (scratched headband and all) wasn’t part of the game he was playing. If displaying his loyalty to his village was only possible by throwing away all trace of it, so be it.

He let the cloth and metal combination fall from his fingers to the ground, watching as it clattered to a rest beside Naruto’s head, the corners of his eyes tightening as emotion clutched at his chest. “I’m going through with it,” he whispered; quiet enough to blend into the rain as a gentle hiss of water. However, Kakashi heard it, and the tension around his eye dissolved, a hint of sadness pulling it down slightly.

“You’ll change,” he said, moving past the dark-haired youth and scooping Naruto’s limp form into his arms as Pakkun threw the headband onto Naruto’s chest with a flick of his head before bounding off into the forest, probably going to keep watch. Kakashi turned back towards his student, taking in the sad slump of his shoulders and the slight sign of exhaustion bending his knees.

“I know,” Sasuke said from under his bangs, and Kakashi felt a pang of sympathy and regret towards the choice Sasuke had made. But… as a ninja, this sacrifice was necessary. The remaining innocence of one, traumatized boy amounted to nothing in the face of the safety and prosperity of the entire village. It was for reasons like that, like this, that made Kakashi quit the ANBU. As much as he was devoted to Konoha… he did still have his morals, amazingly.

Making sure that Naruto settled in his arms a little better, Kakashi met and held Sasuke’s eyes, trying to read the emotions sputtering like a dying candle in his eyes. There was no doubt in his mind that the youth, as stubborn and resilient as he seemed to be, would be crushed under the onslaught of horror that awaited him in Otogakure.

“Don’t forget who you are,” Kakashi said, smiling lightly at the general spark of annoyance that crossed Sasuke’s otherwise lifeless face, and mentally kicked himself for being so sentimental and sappy. With one final look at the Uchiha heir, Kakashi allowed himself to slip back into the shadows of the forest, taking off down the fastest path towards the village, keeping a close watch on the jerking rise and fall of Naruto’s chest and straining his ears for the sound of the irregular beats of Naruto’s heart. He wasn’t worried, no… he knew better than to be worried. The fox wouldn’t let his vessel die, not if it meant sacrificing his own life as well.

As his feet hit ground, trees, and rocks, chakra sticking to any and all surfaces before propelling him forward, one thought was drumming through his mind, repeating itself with every leap, growing stronger and more disturbing with every passing second. Naruto had been trying to help his friend…

But…

The look on Sasuke’s face…

That haunted… dead look…

Had Naruto truly helped?

Or had he doomed them all?

Had he really helped?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Spring in Konoha was a wonderful thing. Not only did the flowers emerge, did the sun come back from its vacation and melt away the frost of another winter, but the missions seemed to slow down, and it almost seemed as if they got easier as well. Spring really was amazing, in that sense. And besides, who could hate it with all the little baby animals chasing each other down the streets.

As Hokage, however, all Naruto got to do was sit in a stuffy old office, listening to one of the old council people he’d never bothered to talk to before go on and on about politics and economics, things he had no idea about. That was Tsunade’s business. He was just there to lead his team, do paperwork, fight off whatever village was attempting to attack, and keep alliances with Sunagakure and the Land of Snow going strong. After all, Naruto had an uncanny ability of making friends with every antisocial bastard there was, turning them into a social bastard, and then creating life long bonds that almost made them blood relatives.

Well, he’d at least managed to convert three out of four bastards, and that was a passing grade.

Sighing and pushing his Hokage hat further back on his head, Naruto rested his head on his hand heavily, barely keeping his head up into a fairly respectable position as he shamelessly spaced out, staring at two frisky birds flying patterns outside the window, enjoying the sunshine and singing their joy. He had been that close to just making a Kage Bunshin go to the meeting for him… but the last time he’d decided to do that the poor thing had gotten so bored it just dispelled the jutsu, which caused him to end up hanging upside down from the meeting room ceiling. No way was he doing that again.

“Our relations with Suna, militarily, have become nothing short of saying our two villages are basically as one. The Kazekage is as at home in this village as in ours, and the Hokages are always welcome there. As such, I’d like to propose and exchange of genin into the ranks of the military both here and in Sunagakure,” at this, Naruto allowed his gaze to be ripped from the playful birds in order to watch Tsunade, who seemed to also have just come out of a daze, if her slightly bleary-eyed expression wasn’t due to drinking again. She’d really fallen off the wagon after Jiraiya’s death. Not that Naruto had been much better for a while there.

“That would probably help further the unity of the villages,” Tsunade finally allowed, and Naruto just snorted under his breath, returning his gaze towards the outside Konoha. However, this time, it was with a little more excitement. He hadn’t had his genin team for little more a few weeks, and so far they hadn’t been let out of the village (something that had to do with the council being paranoid and Naruto’s penchant for attracting danger), so even the slightest chance of going as far as Sunagakure with his genin was going to be awesome. “We can send Naruto’s team,” Tsunade continued, throwing Naruto a quick glance and a smile that made Naruto start to fidget even more, already seeing the endless dunes of the desert, already itching for another fight with Gaara, just to pass the time.

“Absolutely not,” Koharu said with little thought, her permanent frown deepening even more than it usually did. Her wrinkled hands appeared from the folds of her sleeves as she placed them on the table, sending chakra through the ancient table to power up the Sandaime’s old scrying ball. In it was the chakra imprints from the recent genin missions, the picture switching between teams for both Hokages, the elders, and the few other choice people at the meeting. Naruto wasn’t really paying attention, but the flash of pink caused him to glance at the ball, smirking in amusement as he saw Sakura send one of her more annoying charges sailing through the air in her annoyance. “Naruto was given those kids for a reason, Tsunade-hime, and he will keep them. No, I propose we give the sand Shikamaru’s team for now, in exchange for Temari’s. Both of those kids are well versed with the villages and the differences in politics, and they’re slightly more advanced Genin, allowing them more experience with dealing with important political circumstances,” Naruto’s face visibly fell as he heaved a heavy sigh, returning his gaze towards the village, and Koharu sighed, allowing the glass to return to where three kids, one a redheaded girl and the others two brunet boys, were standing on a bridge talking. “However, we did have a mission come in from Sunagakure concerning a request for a team from Konoha.”

Once again, Naruto perked up slightly, deciding that if he had ears they would definitely be standing up, cupped towards the wrinkled old prune that seemed to run Konoha more than the Hokages themselves did. Tsunade thought for a moment, Naruto’s eyes tracing and judging her every movement, and as a slight smile spread across her features he swore he felt his heart soar. If the old lady landed him this mission, he was definitely leaving a few crates of sake at her front door.

“C’mon, what is it?” he said, trying very hard not to make his voice as whiny as it wanted to be. A very hard feat indeed. “Don’t make me go and find it,” he threatened, knowing that whenever he did attempt to find a filed paper he ended up destroying half of the Konoha records library in his impatience. He just didn’t get the filing system there!

Tsunade winced, and Naruto smirked at her triumphantly, ignoring the warning glare she sent him as he leaned forward in his seat, waiting for the brief on the mission.

“Suna just got a request for a team of Genin and their Jounin for a C-Rank mission,” Tsunade said, sighing slightly. “Its from a noble, who’s sending a genin-equivalent to Suna with a scroll. The thing is, the scroll can’t be read without the person it comes with. Some sort of chakra lock, or something. What you need to do is accompany the ninja to the other side of the Land of Waterfalls and into the wilderness. There’s no threat of missing nin of any sort being after the scroll, but the bandits in the Land of Waterfalls and the various danger of the wilderness beyond is a problem.”

“So why is Konoha going?” Naruto asked, brow furrowing slightly in confusion, it seemed like a simple enough mission for Suna to handle alone.

“Well, there are two reasons,” Tsunade continued, nodding absently to the few council members who were starting to take their leave of the meeting hall. “One is that Konoha ninja are more focused on stealth, and they know how to fight in a forest better than sand ninja, who rely on their own topography and more empty spaces to fight. Also… the request was for a Konoha ninja, but was sent to Suna because its slightly closer.”

Naruto stared at his team still reflected in the scrying ball for a moment, inwardly debating with the logistics of the mission, what he knew about his team’s progress and strengths, and the general vibes of weird he was getting about the entire situation.

“Its too easy,” he finally admitted, lips tightening into a hard line as he drummed his fingers on the table in front of him, watching as the taller boy slipped a feel on the girl, slight feelings of affection clutching at his chest as the girl turned around and threw the boy into the river. Ah, that was his team all right… all strength, intelligence, and endless spunk. “But I think I’ll take the mission on,” he finally said, glancing up at Tsunade, his eyes sparking in determination and excitement. The female Hokage just chuckled, knowing that no one was going to persuade Naruto otherwise just now.

“Get your team ready for at least a few months of travel. I’ll get the mission brief to you once its completed and sorted out a little more,” she said, and as soon as her heavy chair was pushed back from the table, signifying the official end of the meeting, Naruto disappeared in a whirl of cloth and leaves (he had finally figured out Kakashi’s technique), leaving the window open and letting a slight breeze rustle the papers in the room.

“He is quite the energetic one, isn’t he?” Homaru murmured from his place next to Koharu, who just sighed and shook her head, following her teammate and the Hokage out of the normal exit, refusing to give herself even more white hairs over the runt who’d manage to worm himself into the office of Hokage.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The small alley was dark and musty, dust and sand swirling upward to block out the small rays of sun as a heavy cloak swept across the ground. The figure wrapped within the fabric was tall and pale, hair blending in with the darkness of the walls and skin seeming to glow with a light of its own. He walked with a purpose, footsteps falling silently on the dried earth as he made his way to the back end of the alley, where a lump of cloth seemed to have been thrown. As he moved forward, chakra cushioning the fall of his feet instinctually, the mound of cloth shifted before unfurling itself, two thin, tanned arms emerging from the dark fabric to stretch upward in a silent yawn. A head emerged soon afterward, bald and wrinkled, and a near-toothless mouth gaped open as the yawn finally came.

The dark-haired young man stopped in his tracks, waiting patiently for the man to finish yawning in front of him, not even flinching when cataract claimed eyes turned towards his direction, flickering over his shoulders before finally coming to rest on his eyes.

“That’s some interesting chakra you have there,” the man said, voice dry from the air and cracked with age. A cheeky smile flitted across his face as he stood, cloth falling around him as he hobbled forward, blind eyes still fixated on the man in front of him. “Do you have a name to go with it?” he asked, stopping in front of the taller man, his old form gnarled and bent, but his face still tilted up, eyes still fixated on that bizarre chakra he was seeing with them.

A twitch of the lips was all the man got at first… coupled with a momentary flare of chakra from the younger man. Eventually, however, after a few seconds of waiting for the other to move first, the dark-haired man closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as if he was trying to remember just how to speak. “Sasuke… Uchiha Sasuke,” he finally whispered, and opened his eyes, the black bleeding into red as one swirl appeared, melting into two and then into three as he poured more chakra into his eyes. The man inhaled sharply, reaching up to run a calloused finger down the side of Sasuke’s face gently.

“Uchiha…” he murmured, sightless eyes wide as he took in that news. A smile slowly spread across his face, and the years seemed to fly away until there was a man with a straight back and bright eyes standing in front of Sasuke’s tall, cloaked figure. “I’ve been waiting for this day. Come,” he quickly turned on heel, no longer hobbling like a crippled old man as he stepped up to the wall at the end of the alley, passing through it with a slight ripple. Sasuke paused for a second before following, allowing the building to swallow him whole, placing his life in the hands of the old man.

One hour later, the alley and the surrounding buildings were vacant once more, the dust settling after a final figure had disturbed them. Deep in the back of that dark alley, a man was turning into dust, the chakra and the seals weaved into his body finally allowing him to rest, dying with a peaceful, a fulfilled smile upon his face.

Sasuke lifted his hood around his face, hiding his pale complexion and swirling red eyes from the eyes of the tanned throng around him. A scroll was tucked firmly in his yukata, pressed against his chest almost comfortingly. As he melted into the crowd again, allowing himself to be swallowed by it, he allowed his mind to drift slightly, forgetting to pad his feet with chakra and to move quickly and purposefully through the crowd. Today, he allowed himself to relax, for today he was one step closer towards his goal. One step closer… to going home.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

As Naruto finally landed on a tree branch above a small stream, he allowed himself a small smile, placing his hands on his hips as he stared down at the small group below him. In so many ways his three young charges reminded him of a younger team seven. There was Akane, the tomboy genius with a temper to rival Sakura’s, Keiji, the slightly perverted, hyperactive brunette with a kekkei genkai leaning towards summons, and Sano, a reserved weaponry expert with a rather… interesting background. In fact, all three of his genin had different aspects that made him, the Hokage carrying the Kyuubi, the only one to teach them.

As for his team, Akane was currently walking along the guardrail of the stream, the very picture of boredom as she placed one foot in front of the other, arms held straight out to the sides. Keiji was currently sitting in a dejected little slump off to the side, dripping wet from his previous dip into the stream, and Sano was sitting on the other guardrail, watching Akane carefully, knowing full well that the girl was perfectly capable of falling off and taking her own little dip into the stream. Out of all of them, only Sano had mastered walking on water.

Naruto watched, a slight fond smile on his face, until Akane looked up, eyes searching the trees until they lighted on his figure. He saw the smile light up her eyes before she placed her own hands on her hips, mirroring his position with a stern look on her face.

“Naruto-sensei! You’re late!” she accused, causing Sano’s head to snap up in confusion before he saw Naruto’s figure. Keiji followed him up a second later, running towards the blond as he jumped out of the tree and landed on the bridge.

“Senseiii,” he whined, holding out his arms and gesturing to the sodden material hanging from them. “Akane threw me into the stream! Again!”

“You tried to feel me up again! Sensei, tell Keiji he can’t sexually harass me!” the redhead huffed, turning a pleading gaze towards Naruto.

The blond grinned and winked at Akane before turning back to Keiji, attempting to look slightly stern.

“Now Keiji, no feeling up Akane while I’m not here,” he paused, smirked, and then leaned forward slightly towards his shortest charge. “Unless you have the opportunity to get something good, then its perfectly- OW!”

Akane huffed and dusted off her hands, shooting a glare at both Keiji and Naruto, who were currently crouched and rubbing at their foreheads. “Sensei, you’re no better than Kakashi,” she stated, the ultimate insult as far as perving went.

“Aw, Akane, don’t be so mean,” Naruto whined jokingly, standing up and rubbing at his forehead, looking at each of his charges with a grin threatening to split his face. “Especially when I have some good new for you.”

“What? Really?” Akane asked, clasping her hands in front of her and leaning forward, eyes sparkling in anticipation.

“Is it a mission? Something so awesome we’re the only team who can handle it?” Keiji offered, leaning forward as well, nearly bouncing up and down in excitement, wet clothes forgotten.

“What is it sensei?” Sano finally put in, his voice soft and almost melodious. Naruto secretly thought that half the reason he was so quiet all of the time was because he was afraid his voice made him sound like a girl… which was almost the truth. Keiji had even teased him about that once.

“You almost got it,” Naruto said, smirking at Keiji as the brunet leaped and pumped a fist into the air in a near-silent fit of joy. “Now all of you, sit,” he said, hoisting himself up on the guardrail. He waited as Sano and Keiji settled themselves on either side of Akane on the rail opposite him, Keiji sitting a bit further away than he normally would because of the death glare Akane gave him, as if she was daring him to even try to get her wet. “We’re going to Suna in order to meet up with a representative from another village. Once we meet with her, we will learn the exact details of the mission and then we will leave the following day for the Land of Waterfalls,” he let the information set in for a moment, matching the excited grins Akane and Keiji were shooting at him. “Yeah, I know, big trip, huh? Well, we’ll be escorting our client from Suna to a small hidden village in the middle of the wilderness. As you know, we aren’t really the team best built for speed or stealth, but since I’m the Hokage and this will be the first anyone has ever heard of a hidden village in the wilderness, we’ll have to make due with our own strengths and weaknesses.”

At this point, Naruto sighed, spacing out slightly as he stared at the water behind his team, a slight frown pulling at his face. Tsunade had assured the council that there would be no dangers beyond what a genin team would face, and that it was about time that Naruto’s team got out on the field… but… the three genin were too inexperienced to be of any use in case they found themselves in the midst of an enemy ninja attack. Overall, it meant he would actually have to plan out their moves, and pull a few all-night study sessions with Shikamaru, Tsunade, Kakashi, and Sai, probably with Kage Bunshin.

As long as he was on the subject…

Quickly forming the hand seals for the Kage Bunshin, Naruto separated his chakra into five separate parts, creating four Kage Bunshins who instantly took off towards different parts of the village, intent on hunting down the aforementioned ninja, even if it meant risking getting punched in the face or kunaied out of annoyance.

“All right guys,” Naruto said, grinning at his three genin. “Time to get to it.”

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

It turned out that Naruto’s team was traveling with Shikamaru’s to Suna, meaning that watching six hyperactive genin going towards a foreign hidden village was almost equivalent to trying to potty train a bunch of monkeys… especially when Naruto’s team was concerned. However, they somehow managed to get to Suna unscathed, and Naruto even managed to get Shikamaru to take care of his team for a bit by promising that his genin would behave when finally meeting the Kazekage face to face. Of course, the look he gave Shikamaru when the fellow Jounin opened his mouth to protest, clearly said “Hokage business, butt out” and that had been the end to that argument.

As such, Naruto had managed to sneak away from his team without being bombarded with questions from Keiji and Akane, and was currently strolling nonchalantly down the streets of Suna, fingers laced behind his head and a goofy grin on his face. Tsunade really was a tricky lady, giving him a slight side “mission” to perform in Suna, which involved giving an old scroll on ancient seals to a wealthy scroll collector. It wasn’t anything like a conspiracy against Suna, Naruto had been given permission to look at it, but the lady wanted the scroll, and Naruto was going to give it to her.

As soon as he rounded the corner depositing him in front of Suna’s leading casino, Naruto picked out the noble lady immediately, simply from the way she balked and blinked at him, not bothering to mask the way she suddenly picked him out of the small crowd and followed his movements to her.

Naruto, similarly, couldn’t take his eyes off the woman either. As he walked forward, his brow furrowed slightly as he studied her. She wasn’t the common noblewoman, even if she looked the part. Her hair was messily layered and black as night, hanging into her face and onto her shoulders in a thick mane, looking utterly delicious and completely messy at the same time. Her eyebrows were thin and as dark as her hair, framing dark blue eyes with pupils so large he almost mistook her eyes for black. Her skin had an almost deathly pallor to it, blending in with the creamy white fabric of her dress. The dress was high-collared with a diamond cut out of it just above her breasts, showing a generous amount of cleavage. There was a slit near her hip as well, showing off the creamy expanse of rather well shaped legs. Over all, as soon as Naruto met her challenging gaze, he felt an almost overwhelming lust for her, the likes of which he hadn’t felt in years

“Yo,” he said, stopping in front of the woman leaning nonchalantly against the wall, granting her a lopsided smile before patting his coat. “Think I have something of yours here, right?”

“You’re the delivery boy from Konoha?” she asked in a dark voice, smooth and sultry and laced with a sense of déjá vu that made a shiver run down his back. The woman arched an eyebrow and raked her eyes over his form, taking in the black and orange jacket he was so fond of and the typical black mission pants Jounin normally wore. He probably wasn’t looking… or smelling… that good after their three-day trip to Suna, and normally he wouldn’t have been bothered by the scrutinizing gaze. This time, however, was different, and Naruto instantly felt self conscious about the shirt sticking out from underneath his jacket, the cooling sheen of sweat on his brow, and the strands of hair he just knew were sticking out everywhere… probably laced with twigs and leaves as well. “Not exactly conventional to send the Hokage, is it?” she asked again, a slight smirk pulling at her lips. For a moment, Naruto’s mind flashed to a ghost of a memory of high cheekbones, pale skin, and swirling red eyes. The way the woman’s face moved reminded him so much of Sasuke’s he suddenly felt like the wind was knocked out of him. She moved her mouth the same way, had the same challenging sparkle to her dark eyes, and even the light fell against the contours of her face the way it did on Sasuke’s face, highlighting all the right parts to make said face as so beautiful it was almost sinful.

Swallowing thickly, Naruto grinned shakily and nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets and trying to calm his shaking nerves. This was a woman for God’s sakes, and much more voyeur than Sasuke would have been, what with the tops of her breasts and the curve of her thigh open for the world to see.

“Yup, that’s me, Konoha’s errand boy,” he said, chuckling lightly, trying to clear the sudden tension he felt in his body. “Hokage’s just a title, after all. Apparently you’re never too good to just run an errand, right?”

“Indeed,” the woman murmured, narrowing her eyes as she studied Naruto’s face, before her eyes traveled to the slight bulge in Naruto’s jacket, betraying the presence of the rather thick scroll she had requested. “So how much to I owe you?” she asked, reaching for the purse Naruto hadn’t seen slung over her shoulder until she moved for it, flipping it open and grabbing a black wallet out. Naruto instantly shook his head and unzipped his jacket, pulling the scroll out and grinning lightly.

“No fee, Ma’am,” he said, holding out the scroll for the woman to take. “After all, this wasn’t a mission, just a favor from Tsunade-baachan.”

He waited as the woman’s slender hand reached out, gripping the scroll, but didn’t move his hand away from holding the other side. After all, the woman didn’t seem to have a firm grasp on it.

The young woman drew her lip in between her teeth, staring at the scroll as she thought about something. Finally, she glanced upward from beneath her bangs, seeming oddly hesitant over what she was going to ask next. Naruto blinked and let his hand fall away as the woman finally pulled on the scroll, but never broke eye contact.

“Would you… like to join me for a few games, Hokage-san?” she finally asked; voice a mere murmur and a question in her eyes. He could see the turmoil spinning within the dark blue orbs, and was instantly confused about it. It was almost as if she didn’t really want to be with him any more, yet… she was asking him to spend time with her? Ahhh, it was too confusing to think about.

“Call me Naruto,” the blond said, grin spreading across his face, seeming to spread from ear to ear. “And I’d love to. After all, its not every day that I can blow Tsunade-baachan’s money on the pretense of mission expenses, right?”

A smile quirked at the woman’s lips as she drew herself up to full height, which was only a few inches below Naruto. The hesitation was gone, and in its place flowed power and confidence, as well as a bit of challenge. She efficiently placed the scroll within her handbag, and held out her hand in front of her, raising a brow as she finally let that smile fight its way onto her face. “Kobayashi Ayako,” she finally sang, clasping Naruto’s hand and shaking it forcefully. “The woman you’re going to loose to,” she said, smirking, and then turned on heel, leaving Naruto to grin and follow her, looking forward to the challenge.

Example of upcoming fic

So, I just sat down and wrote seven pages of a fanfiction for a friend, since she asked for something that went on and on and on (and since I'm determined to write this in accordance to a drawing that suddenly manifested itself in my notebook xD) So here it is, the first half of the experimental chapter of this fic, that is (currently) untitled!

“I’m going through with it,” he whispered, quiet enough to blend into the rain as a gentle hiss of water.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Her wrinkled hands appeared from the folds of her sleeves as he placed her hands on the table, sending chakra through the ancient table to power up the Sandaime’s old scrying ball.

“Its from a noble, who’s sending a genin equivalent to Suna with a scroll.

I’ll get the mission brief to you once its completed and sorted out a little more,” she said, and as soon as her heavy chair was pushed back from the table, signifying the official end of the meeting, Naruto disappeared in a whirl of cloth and leaves (he had finally figured out Kakashi’s technique), leaving the window open, letting a slight breeze rustle the papers in the room.

<lj:music>Kayama - Adiemus</lj:music>

So, yeah, getting three hours of sleep and trying to write only results in many little holes to loose yourself in, and many, many dead ends popping up where plot used to roam free >.<

No more challenge fics from me tonight... I can barely remember the word... uh.... *is actually thinking* EXAMPLE!... let alone write something coherent, witty, and somewhat good...

But, I'll post the semi-idea that has run away from me, just to see if it allows me to find a muse for it tomorrow at school *le sigh*

The first real fight Naruto and Sasuke got into resulted in the latter deserting the village, severing his last thread of morality as he did so. The second real fight resulted in Naruto brining a not-as-reluctant-as-he-could-be Sasuke back to the village, and almost cost him the sight in his right eye (the dobe had no self-control). The third wasn’t exactly a “real” fight, per say, but it ended up with both of them waking up in the same bed, naked, with a multitude of bruises and little cuts on them. That had thrown them, more Sasuke than Naruto, because of the slight question of sexuality it presented. Naruto claimed to be bi, and labeled Sasuke as gay (due to his lack of female relationships), something that Sasuke vehemently protested. Their fourth fight happened three months later, and even if they didn’t remember how it started, it was by far the most hurtful… and it was the last.

“Jerk!”

“Dead-last.”

“Bastard!!”

“Dobe.”

“FUCKIN’ JERK!”

“Already said that one.”

Shikamaru took another long swig from his glass of alcohol, studiously ignoring how the eyes of everyone in the bar were currently focusing on a point somewhere over his left shoulder. The bartender hadn’t lifted a finger to throw the arguing pair out of his bar, which was probably a wise decision, seeing as everyone in the village seemed to know the blonde Jounin and the Uchiha who betrayed the village on sight, and getting the two drunk and pissy in a bar with each other without taking away their weapon pouches was just utter insanity. It was like getting a bull drunk, smothering him in honey, and letting him loose in a china shop which just happened to have a rather bad bee infestation.

If the lazy ninja had bothered to take a look over his shoulder, he would have seen the seething Naruto huffing up a storm behind a rather calm Sasuke, eyes slightly bleary and a flush of alcohol coloring his cheeks. Sasuke, the emotionless bastard, was just leaning his chin against the rim of his rather large beer glass and staring straight ahead through half-lidded eyes, a look of complete and utter indifference plastered on his face. No one really knew how the fight started, but seeing as it was Naruto and Sasuke, that didn’t really matter. Anything could turn into an argument for them.

“Y’know how muss’ I’ve freak’n sac’fis’d for ya?” Naruto slurred, anger and alcohol making his tongue thick and heavy. “Leas’ you coul’ do’s show some shre’ a... a… grati… grat’tude.”

As Sasuke slowly allowed his eyes to settle on the reflection of the blond in the mirror he was facing, he allowed a slight frown to pull down at the edge of his mouth. He couldn’t hold his alcohol much better than Naruto, but what he could do was make his mouth obey him… even if it took him a tad longer to spit things out… which didn’t seem to improve Naruto’s temper.

“Then let me thank you,” he drawled, stretching out the vowels a tad longer than he should have, betraying his slight loss of wits. Watching Naruto bristle, however, wasn’t as rewarding as it should have been. Instead of gaining more insults being thrown his way by a raving Naruto, which he could handle, his retort caused the blond’s mouth to snap shut and for his eyes to flicker from blue to red, the wide pupils narrowing in anger. Now that he didn’t know how to deal with. Give him a pissy, shouting Naruto and he’d just bash him over the head. The moment actual emotions started getting thrown around… Sasuke was OUT of there.

“Fuck. You,” Naruto said slowly, softly, and Sasuke could almost see the kyuubi’s chakra burning off the alcohol in Naruto’s system as he whirled around and stormed out of the bar.

The raven-haired youth turned back to his beer, staring into the foamy depths as a small, curious “hn” echoed from somewhere behind him. He scowled into his drink, downed the last few sips, and stormed out, making a mental note to get Naruto to apologize for leaving Shikamaru with the bill.

He was half expecting for Naruto to be sulking around his apartment, as usual, as he walked through the door, but the empty place where Naruto normally haphazardly threw his shoes was empty.

“Naruto?” he tried, toeing off his shoes as he supported himself by the doorframe, groaning slightly as the wood floor in front of him decided to start belly dancing beneath his feet. Using the wall for much-needed support, Sasuke navigated his way to the bedroom, collapsing onto his bed and pulling a pillow under him, hugging it slightly as his stomach seemed to lurch forward into his throat. The room was spinning slightly, and Sasuke knew that darkness wasn’t far in coming. As he surrendered to the all-encompassing darkness, his last coherent thought was just how cold the bed was without Naruto… it didn’t even occur to him that he wasn’t under the covers yet.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

“Fuuuuuuuuck…” Sasuke groaned as Sakura clapped her hands to the side of his head none-too-gently, making those mother hen “tsking” sounds she had perfected with Naruto. As he felt the warmth of her chakra flowing through his temples, the Uchiha almost sighed with relief. Sakura really was a master at curing hangovers.

“Agreed,” the pink-haired girl said gently, not wanting to piss Sasuke off anymore than he was. She wasn’t stupid, unlike Naruto, and tended not to tempt a hungry lion with a large, raw steak. “What the hell were you thinking getting this drunk, Sasuke-kun?” she finally sighed, releasing her grip on his head, moving over to her desk to shift around the clutter for one of those sodas with caffeine she had picked up the other day. Nothing cured a headache better than caffeine. “You had a mission this morning, you know?”

“Shit,” Sasuke allowed, blaming his sudden lack of a stone-set expression on the pounding in his head. “Did the Hokage get mad?”

*shakes fist at Sasuke* stupid idiot!  Work with me and keep your icy-bastard exterior!  -.-;;

The first few times, he laughed it off (since the expression of utter resentment and slight embarrassment on Sasuke’s face was enough to remedy the situation) but after the tenth time? The twentieth time? Hell, Naruto was beginning to fear for the safety of his little home every time he stepped out of the door.

It wasn’t always because of Sasuke’s cooking, even though the bastard tended to like things on the burnt side and used so much oil that even the slightest spark caused the flame to jump towards the ceiling. No, there were occasions when Naruto would open the door and find fire coming from the living room, the bedroom and even (god forbid) the bathroom.

It was his secret theory that Sasuke just like watching him run from the blaze to the sink like a chicken with his head cut off, and that’s why he would oh-so conveniently drop his cigarette stubs on the carpet without putting them out only about a minute before Naruto walked through the door, allowing him to take care of the blaze. That’s why he would insist on hanging scarves above the heater to “dry”. Overall, Naruto was beginning to worry that Sasuke had a thing for lighting fires.

Of course, when he expressed this opinion on his way to the Hokage office one day, he was accompanied to the door with a Katon.

Which, of course, led to many, many, many of his friends asking just why the back of his clothes were singed that morning, which led to a rather disturbing “interrogation” by Shikamaru, Kiba, and Sakura that made questions pop into his head that he didn’t really want to think about. Ever.

“Naruto. Your ass is on fire,” Sakura had ever-so-subtly pointed out earlier that morning, patting said ass to put out the slight flame that had been eating away at the back of Naruto’s Hokage robe.

Naruto, in turn, jumped, cursed, and stormed about for a while on a muttered rant as his friends looked on. It wasn’t really strange to see Naruto storming about his office ranting about this or that, <s>especially since he lived with Mr. I-Have-A-Stick-Shoved-So-Far-Up-My-Ass-I-Can-Sword-Fight-With-It, not that they would ever say that, of course</s> so that wasn’t really what resulting it Sakura and Kiba tackling Naruto into the small side-office as Shikamaru reluctantly followed, not wanting to be resigned to Naruto’s fate if he attempted to leave. He knew Sakura too well. What was the reason for Naruto’s sudden kidnapping and interrogation was the fact that they knew how many fires Naruto had been faced with, and they knew that Sasuke wasn’t exactly the sanest person in the world. After all, one couldn’t spend god knows how much time with an old man with a tongue and little boy fetish and come out completely unscarred… well… maybe Naruto could, but that was Naruto. He was already plagued by a demon fox that ran a never-ending sarcastic commentary on his life, after all.

“Naruto, spill,” Kiba had ordered as he forced Naruto to sit down on a chair in the small office, narrowing his eyes at his friend in the way that said “we have ways of making you talk, and they ain’t no fun and games, capiche?” “It was already iffy enough with almost getting your house burnt down… but now he’s started lighting you on fire? You have to admit that’s not really…” he trailed off here, waving his hand around like he was waiting for Naruto to pick up the line and go with it.

Naruto, of course, didn’t want to be punched in the face, so he attempted to answer in his own, unique way.

“Not really… sexy?” he offered sheepishly, wincing and shrinking back into his chair as Kiba threw up his hands and stormed off to sulk by the door with Shikamaru as Sakura took over with a frustrated sigh.

“Naruto,” she stared, gently thumping down her hand on the desk and leaning forward and closing her eyes as she put a slightly strained smile on her face that basically blared out “don’t listen to what I’m saying, and die.” “We all know Sasuke, and we all know that he isn’t really the most… stable… person to be around. Even before Orochimaru,” she said pointedly, opening her eyes from that tense, pissed off smile, in order to study Naruto’s slightly terrified expression. It was almost as if he was mentally preparing himself for one of her chakra charged fists to send him sailing through the wall again. “All these fires can’t be accidents, you know that. So we’re going to help you brainstorm reasons for Sasuke attempting to burn your house down. Has he been acting any different lately?”

“Er…” Naruto muttered, tapping his chin slightly as he glanced towards the ceiling, left eye almost screwed shut in thought. “He has been more pissy lately… but I think that’s due to me not giving him missions lately. But he is still recovering,” he said, a slight sigh at the edge of his voice. His companions winced slightly, remembering how they had barely managed to drag Sasuke’s body back to the village alive. The rest of his team had survived, but for some reason Sasuke just hadn’t been able to deal with his opponent. He’d lost a lot of blood, and had been taken off the mission roster and denied the ability to train until he completely recovered his strength and chakra reserve.

“Anything else?” Sakura prompted, glancing at Shikamaru quickly as she saw a frown of thought come to his face.

“Well… we haven’t had sex since he came back,” Naruto said sheepishly, a slight lopsided smile coming across his face.

Sakura just sighed and decided that that was as good a tangent as any to explore. “So what would the fires mean then? In regards to sex?”

“That…” Naruto stopped, thinking slightly, and as he started speaking again, his face slowly contorted into an expression of confusion, and almost panic. “He… has a kink… for having sex… and… lighting me on fire? Ew! That’s just weird,” Naruto said, shuddering and rubbing at his arms slightly. “Sakuraaaaa, I don’t wanna be burned just to have sex,” he said, wide blue eyes looking at her, searching for reassurance that that wasn’t what Sasuke was hinting at.

Sakura, meanwhile, was suddenly reminded of the last time Naruto had used that tone and looked at her that way, and the memory was making her choke down on her gag-reflex. It had been in a similar situation, just a few weeks after they brought Sasuke back, and Sakura had to spend a few hours convincing Naruto that Sasuke wouldn’t use his snake summon in bed, and that he didn’t suddenly inherit Orochimaru’s creepy long tongue. Of course, she had then gone to Sasuke and threatened him, on pain of death, no to use any weird kinks on Naruto before storming off to get drunk, have sex with Lee, and get the mental images out of her mind. As far as she knew, Sasuke had listened to her… either that, or he hadn’t been planning to in the first place.

“Naruto, I think burning your skin off would be slightly counter productive to having sex,” Sakura said slowly, making sure that Naruto understood her. From the heavy look of relief that flooded over his face, he did.

“Actually, I think the answer is simpler than,” Shikamaru paused, as if attempting to breach a mental barrier that involved censoring the very thought of Naruto and Sasuke having sex, “… sex… I think he’s just… bored and… frustrated. After all, training and missions have basically been his life since he’s come back, and being cut off from that must be annoying,” he sighed, shrugging a shoulder at the stares of Kiba, Sakura, and Naruto. “Not that I know that for sure. Sasuke’s a bitch to try and read.”

The rest of the conversation Naruto didn’t really pay attention to. He was too busy reflecting on the last few days, Sakura’s explanation, and then Shikamaru’s revelation. Was it really as simple as Sasuke being bored? Or did he really want to have kinky fire-sex with Naruto? Hopefully, Naruto decided with a slight shudder, Sasuke was just PMSing.

That day, he was greeted by another fire in his apartment, which he skillfully put out with the fire blanket he had bought a few days earlier, and had already used three times. This time, it was in the carpet in the hallway, almost blocking his access to the fire deterrent. Sasuke, as always, was just sitting on the steps with a bored expression on his face, watching him work.

As soon as the fire was out, Naruto raised a finger, pointing it accusingly at Sasuke as he stood there, slightly flushed in anger and breathing heavily from running home and then beating the fire down. “You. Suck. Cock,” he finally hissed out, causing Sasuke to smirk and make a “hn” sound in the back of his throat, which made Naruto reevaluate his words and throw up his hands with a frustrated yell. “Could it kill you to take care of your own fires?” he finally yelled out, hands fisted on his hips as he leaned forward, glaring at Sasuke from under his smoke-stained hair. Somewhere in the apartment a smoke alarm decided to start going off… a little late on the uptake.

“But you always look so keen on doing it yourself,” Sasuke said back, voice low and easy, displaying the obvious enjoyment he was getting out of the discussion. “Wouldn’t want to ruin your fun, now would I?”

“Bastard,” Naruto growled, storming off into the kitchen and opening a window, allowing the smoke to billow out of the hazy apartment. Within a few seconds, the smoke alarm tapered off, declaring the near-suffocating air as safe enough. Naruto felt like ripping it off the wall and throwing it through the window… or at Sasuke’s still smirking face.

“What happened this time?” Naruto finally asked, leaning against the sink with his arms crossed as Sasuke slowly walked in, acting as if he owned the place <s>and since his name was on the lease, he technically did</s>. “Forget to put your cigarette butt out? Drop a lit match on the carpet?”

Sasuke just picked up the fire blanket Naruto had thrown moodily across a chair and proceeded to fold it with his usual prissy obsession with cleanliness. “There was a rat,” he finally allowed, causing Naruto to sputter on the annoyed response he had been planning and then to contemplate the picture of Sasuke attempting to Katon a rat and thus catching the apartment on fire. Despite his annoyance with Sasuke, and the lingering suspicion that something really was amiss in his boyfriends head (as alluded to by his kidnapping), he couldn’t help a snort of laughter to emerge as he clung to the sink for support.

Honestly, Naruto could jut see Sasuke spot a rat, think about kunai-ing it, before deciding to use it for target practice for his goddamned Katon which had absolutely no precision factor. It was just such a Sasuke thing to do.

“Come here,” Naruto said, gesturing for Sasuke to approach with a flick of his wrist. The dark haired teen seemed to contemplate his options for a second, before shrugging lightly, obviously deciding “why not, nothing else to do” and placing the folded blanket on the chair before approaching Naruto, watching with what seemed to be little interest as the blond pushed himself away from the sink, placed his hands on either side of Sasuke’s face, and then lightly press their lips together, smirk still twisting his lips.

To anyone watching their kiss, it would have seemed like Naruto was kissing a statue or something, for all of Sasuke’s reaction, but Naruto knew better. Sasuke rarely closed his eyes while kissing, the paranoid bastard, but the slight narrowing of them and the way that he allowed Naruto’s finger to brush against his neck without tensing was enough for the blond to know he was enjoying it. There was no melting into a kiss for Sasuke, and there was no real response unless sex was the promised outcome, but the slight twitch of movement of Sasuke’s lips against his and the feather-light presence of his fingertips against Naruto’s hips was enough to send electricity shooting up and down Naruto’s spine. He broke the kiss and smiled at Sasuke, warmth bubbling in his chest as the pale teen across from him didn’t move away from their close proximity.

He had decided something just then, as they were sharing that lazy, shallow kiss and just standing in the smoky kitchen. Sasuke wasn’t really an icy bastard. Sure, he was a bastard, but that cold wasn’t from ice, but from something much hotter. Sasuke was fire, from the way his lips burned against Naruto, from the way the slightest brush of his fingertips against bare skin always felt like a lick of flame, to the way he caused Naruto’s heart to squeeze and burn, his blood rushing around like liquid fire. Sasuke burned so hot, that to those that didn’t know him inside and out, he seemed as cold as ice.

So what if Naruto had to deal with Sasuke’s tendencies to use Katon for everything, it was just who he was. Just like Naruto wasn’t Naruto without Ramen and a smile, Sasuke wasn’t Sasuke without his stone-set expression and his fire.

“Its an Uchiha thing, isn’t it?” Naruto asked, inwardly pleased as Sasuke allowed himself a moment of human expression, his mouth pulling downward into a frown as one eyebrow raised delicately up, his eyes searching for an explanation. Naruto just smiled back, the kind that made him close his eyes and pour out his soul through the utter joy etched onto his face. “Yeah, definitely an Uchiha thing,” he concluded, leaning forward again for the familiar feel of Sasuke’s lips against his.

For this, he could definitely live with the occasional fire.

Woot, fanart, beware the semi-nakedness of it all ^^

So, I was determined to go to sleep at nine thirty tonight, due to being dead tired from studing a gaddang case all day, but then I decided to watch Hairspray and imagine a crack!mission where Sasuke had to perform as Link xD I'm not sane, really I'm not. Anyway, halfway through the movie I was struck with sudden drawing inspiration (amazing, since I suck) and I stared out a rather rough sketch of sexy!Sasuke and sexy!Naruto, inspired partly by askerian's http://asukasama.free.fr/art/lemon/yuri_gonaruko.jpg

Anywho, here's my pitiful attempt at a fanart... or rather... a really crappy pencil sketch with major issues (ie, Sasuke's face and breasts and hand... I actually like his legs and feet, and Naruto's waist and left leg... and... my scanner sucks -.- so... yeah, beware the crappiness until I get off my lazy ass and ink it xD or at least make the lines darker so the darn thing actually picks them up... as for now, its almost midnight, so I'm dead -.-

*fiddles with the scanner for thirty minutes and then kicks it across the room swearing*

Ah, screw it... digital camera it shall be! *glares and attempts to take a photo* STUPID SHADOW OF MY STUPID HAND! GET OUT OF THE WAAAY!!! ARGH! *diez*

*searches for chord* *finds one* *looks at the camera connection place thingie and starts swearing* GODDAMNIT! TOO SMALL! *searches for another one* *screams obscenities from the rooftop and steals another camera*

*three cameras, one scanner, and five chords later* HAHAHA! IT WORKED! *curls up in a corner and giggles and eyetwitches* *waits ten minutes for photobucket to work and then stalks up to another uploading site* I swear, its like this picture doesn't want to be seen!

    <lj:music>At Wit's End - POTC 3</lj:music>

*runs off to watch the latest episode of Avatar*

*hates on over-break homework*

*posts waaaay unfinished one and 3/4 pages of ficcy, just cause I can*

The sun today was bright, almost blinding in its brilliance, and it enveloped everyone beneath its haughty gaze in a blanket of warmth, heating them to their very core as it caressed, held, and watched its children. Animals were crawling out to bask in the warm sunlight they had been graced to, and the water of the previous rains were being sucked back out of the ground, allowing surrounding plants to turn skyward as soon as the weight of the rain was off of them.

A squirrel was racing across the branches of various trees, jumping from one to the other in nothing other than a fit of joy, happy to be able to stretch its legs. Its lithe body didn’t even pause as it threw itself from one branch to the other, the tight muscles following a routine dance of tensing and springing before small claws easily dug into the bark of the tree, securing the landing for only an instant before the squirrel was off again, spiraling up the tree trunk to repeat the process from an even higher branch.

Now, such movements would have proven insignificant and probably would have been missed entirely by the normal eye, but to someone like Uchiha Sasuke, any external movement was living hell, for as long as his Sharingan was activated, it treated any traceable movement as instant eye-candy and went after it saying “Ooh! Gimme!” with such surprising subtlety that it sometimes took Sasuke a few seconds to realize he was watching a damned squirrel instead of his sensei’s cloth-covered fists.

“Concentrate,” Kakashi drawled out as Sasuke wrenched his eyes away from the brown creature in order to focus the swirling red and black orbs on the jounin’s form, barely managing to duck under a kick to the side of his face and to spin around in a semi-circle, swinging his own leg at Kakashi’s in a counterattack. He could see the ninja’s weight shift into his stationary leg seconds before his kick would hit, and gritted his teeth in annoyance, forgoing the leg sweep he knew Kakashi was going to leap out of the way from and leaping backwards instead, putting some distance in between them as his hand inched towards a kunai and his eyes were drawn once more to the frolicking squirrel… who had suddenly found a different squirrel rather fascinating.

“Not my fault,” he murmured out, allowing his hand the gratification of clutching the kunai before he dutifully turned back towards Kakashi, bending his knees slightly to fall into a crouching position. Really, it wasn’t, ever since Naruto and Sakura had dragged him back from Orochimaru (which had been completely unnecessary, he had been planning to walk there in a few days after all) he rarely had the occasion to use his Sharingan, because picking even more fights with Naruto killed any hope of gaining the trust of the village, and walking around with the Sharingan activated not only made him feel like Itachi, but made him more distracted than Naruto walking past a street of ramen shops… if that was even possible.

As soon as Sasuke’s eyes caught the slight shift of weight in his sensei’s stance, the teen changed positions himself, dropping the kunai to the ground before stepping on it, attaching it to the bottom of his shoe with chakra as he raced forward, meeting Kakashi’s advance by punching out with his right arm, raising his left to block the jounin’s own punch before spinning around, almost without touching the ground, and using the momentum of his kick to send the kunai flying towards Kakashi’s head as he jumped away. It was an old trick, and one that Sasuke had started using under Kakshi’s watchful eye, but from the quick twitch of Kakashi’s hands and the slight widening of his eyes, it seemed Sasuke had taken him by surprise, a fact which caused him to smirk as the kunai embedded itself into Kakashi’s temple. Instantly, Sasuke stilled, body tensed and ready as he scented the air and cast his eyes around quickly, studiously ignoring that damn squirrel to his right.

These sparring sessions with Kakashi were a welcome break from the utter boredom Sasuke had been met with within the walls of Konoha. For one year, it was meet with the Hokage at seven AM sharp, get his chakra bonds checked for about two hours at eight, be accompanied to interrogational meetings where genjutsu specialists and other sorts of ninja trained for weeding out information tried to find holes his story (which was the truth, by the way) about his absorption of Orochimaru and the death of Itachi. Then it was off to the seal specialists to make sure that his cursed seal wasn’t going to up and run off with his body or whatever they thought it was going to do. The original seal Kakashi had placed upon it was still there, even though it barely did anything anymore, and that seemed to ease some fears… but they still thought it was an open pathway for whatever part of Orochimaru he had absorbed to suddenly rear its ugly head and go on with its child abducting, human experimenting ways. After that, it was normally just wander the village with his normal assortment of watchful eyes trailing after him and making sure he didn’t do anything “questionable”. Over all, it was some pretty boring shit.

    <lj:music>Breathe In - Frou Frou</lj:music>

WTF? No new chapter of Naruto??? UNTIL THE 21st????

Do they want to kill us? T.T

http://groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturns/ <--- embrace it, and learn to love it <3

The last chapter was sooo pretty! What with the Uchihas striking poses with their sexiness and Sasuke actually showing emotion *le gasp*

zomg... I'm gonna die without more Uchiha fighting! >.< And if Kishimoto kills off Sasuke.... *gets the torches and pitchforks ready*

But honestly, I absolutely loved the whole genjutsu fighting that was going on... and their expressions. But... the only thing is... is it just me, or does Itachi seem to suck? -.- maybe its just cause he's in comparison to Sasuke, but compared to his previous fights against Kakashi and Naruto, he's seeming to suck a little much. But... then again... that is because of his genjutsu... which is counteracted by Sasuke's prettiness... oh, and his eyes xDD

Which reminds me, Uchihacest: whats that about?

I mean, I get it literally, I just can't really think about how it comes into being... but... they're pretty xD so, if someone could point me in the general direction of a good Uchihacest fic, I'd greatly appreciate it. After all, I don't want to hesitantly go into something and then read some really stupid crack fic and be pushed away forever >.<

And isn't it weird that the current debates seem to be mostly centered around SasuNaru and SasuSaku? I mean, doesn't Naruto get any love? xD I was talking to my friend before the winter break about our fav characters in Naruto, and I realized that... well... poor widdle Naruto is like... fifth on my list xD after Sasuke, Gaara, Suigetsu, and Shikamaru and just before Kakashi, Jiraiya, Tsunade and Sakura. Shouldn't the main character like... always get the best popularity? I distinctly remember Sasuke winning a popularity poll once *thinks back*

OH! BY THE WAY! SASUKE'S NOT GONNA DIE (<s>yet</s>! >:D At least not now T.T the chance is still open.

I was surfing LJ a few days ago and came across a comment that said that Kishimoto had big plans in store for Sasuke and Kakashi over this next year (which also means Naruto is nowhere near done, even with the Uchiha-fight and Orochimaru-absorption) which means he's probably going to keep them around! YAY! <3 <3 <3

Bleh, yeah... tired *dies*

INTRO TIME! xD As opposed to nakie-time, of course ^_^

Anywho, I'm Leah, fanfiction writer and yaoi fangirl galore!

I embrace any yaoi couple, and love torturing characters in my stories ^^; its just so fun! However, there's one pairing that started it all for me, and its one that I'm never gonna be able to let go of. After all, no other couple makes me squee with delight and melt into happy piles of fan-girl goo ^_^

What's that pairing? SasuNaru, of course~!

There's just something about the utter cannon-ness of it all that makes me love it more than others. After all, my mom caught me watching a few episodes with Sasuke/Naruto interaction a few years back (and she doesn't know about my yaoi fixation, so shhhh) and the first thing out of her mouth is always "Are they... gay? With... you know... each other?"

xD mother's are perceptive, ne?

Anyway, I write mainly, and attempt to draw... but I can't draw anything original (except chibis) cause I'm horrible like that xD I don't trace or anything, I just need to look at a picture before I can draw it, preferably bigger than originally... So yes, you may see a few of my badly scanned pictures popping up around here, and maybe a few icons, signatures, and other blends (cause I'm getting photoshop tomorrow! YES!) but mainly, this is my writing/ranting journal, and since I'm starting up what I hope will be an ongoing SasuNaru (which might develop into NaruSasuSaku or SasuNaruSaku and probably NaruSasu) which I'm starting tonight ^^

Oh, right, better tell people what I like about this pairing, huh? xD

I like a more macho mindset of SasuNaru and NaruSasu, where one's not permanently uke and vice versa, and while I admit that yes, Sasuke is a perfect candidate for uke (after all, Kishimoto had to be telling us something with his name. I mean, SasUKE? foreshadowing much? xD) I actually like Sasuke being the commanding seme... and even if he was uke, he'd probably be in charge and flaunting it anyways xD after all, its his nature. And... while I'm all for reading about realistic macho relationships where they don't cuddle or anything... I just can't write that >.< I've been corrupted by Teh Doujin, although not to the point where Naruto is a big-eyed, innocent girl who knows nothing about sex and doesn't really want it until Sasuke forces it on him, basically rapes him, and thus makes Naruto fall unconditionally in love with him. I also don't like how doujins make Naruto all moany and beggy while Sasuke doesn't even flush or make a noise. I personally see Sasuke as a noisy person during sex XD just like Naruto. After all, he needs to speak sometime doesn't he?

So, over all, I like the idea that Naruto and Sasuke can awkwardly cuddle (with Naruto randomly glomping Sasuke and Sasuke reluctantly allowing it), kiss without biting each-other's lips off, and have an equal "bottom as it plays out" relationship, with one needing affection one day, and the other needing control another. After all, Naruto and Sasuke need affection in some form, right? Even Sasuke has a heart underneath all that stone
